Boom was founded in 2020 as a consumer rent reporting app and expanded into property manager tooling with BoomScreen, then BoomCRM in August 2026 alongside a $15 million Series A led by S3 Ventures.
An independent property management API grader found all 13 endpoint pages in the docs navigation pointing at an expired ngrok tunnel from March 2024 and the rent reporting spec disagreeing with the live API on host, content type and field types. The same review found no idempotency key on the call that files rent payments to the bureaus, no Retry-After header on the documented 429 responses, no request id on successful responses and no concurrency control such as ETags.
