Byte has a real REST API that a lender's own administrator can switch on, but only after buying ByteWeb and BytePro Enterprise, and the documentation lives behind the customer support login. Auth is a password service account, with no OAuth, public sandbox or changelog.
Byte Software scores C on Supergood's API Report Card. Byte has a real REST API that a lender's own administrator can switch on, but only after buying ByteWeb and BytePro Enterprise, and the documentation lives behind the customer support login. Auth is a password service account, with no OAuth, public sandbox or changelog.
Byte Software has an official API, but teams routinely hit its limits: gated access, partial coverage, or paid tiers. Most end up supplementing it with exports or an unofficial API layer like Supergood. Site terms may apply to any integration approach, and how they apply is a determination each team makes for itself.
Byte Software sells BytePro, a configurable enterprise class mortgage loan origination system that has been on the market since 1985.
Independent mortgage bankers, community and regional banks, credit unions and larger mortgage brokers that want deep in house configurability and are willing to run or administer the system themselves. Loan officers originate in BytePro or capture applications through the ByteWeb loan officer portal and Byte Consumer Edition.
Byte's own Capterra description says the BytePro platform is trusted by over 1,000 mortgage bankers, credit unions, banks and brokers, and Finovate describes clients in all 50 states, but Byte publishes no loan volume or market share figures and it does not appear in the top tier of STRATMOR Technology Insight LOS share.
BytePro is the lender's system of record for the loan file: borrower PII, the 1003 application, credit, income and asset documentation, AUS findings, pricing and lock data, fees and disclosures, conditions, underwriting decisions, closing packages, funding and delivery data, plus HMDA and NMLS reporting fields.
BytePro dates to 1985 and remains a Windows desktop application, with ByteWeb added as a web services and portal layer and a REST API framework on top.
A loan originator reviewing BytePro in July 2025 complained there is no API functionality to submit loans to lenders the way ARIVE offers, and that pricing and lender integrations are missing from the broker workflow. A loan originator (July 2025) called BytePro stuck in the 1980s, saying it does not integrate pricing or lenders, documents are hard to manage and data does not carry over between screens; the only positive named was US based support. Supergood's grades measure one thing: can a customer's engineering team get their own data out programmatically? Supergood checks six things (whether a real API exists, how access is gated, data coverage, auth quality, docs and developer experience, and stability) and rolls them into a letter grade. Supergood re-verifies grades, and they only move on evidence.
Not that we could find. As of November 2026 there is no official Byte Software MCP server in any public registry, and no maintained community server we're aware of. We re-verify this periodically — report an inaccuracy below if we missed one.
Not natively. Byte Software doesn't publish an MCP server, so MCP clients like Claude, Cursor, and Codex have nothing to connect to out of the box. If that changes, this page will reflect it.
